Three Questions to Ask Yourself When Planning a  Beach Vacation to Gulf Shores.

What time of year is your vacation?

Gulf Shores beaches are beautiful any time of year, however, selecting a season to visit will be important in planning a trip that meets your expectations. Many people flock to the beaches right after school gets out.  Mid-May to mid-August, families come to make lasting memories, many visiting annually.

You can avoid the most crowded times by booking your ideal trip after Labor Day and before Thanksgiving.  The weather is still summer-like and the water is warm.  Traffic is better and things slow down a bit. Spring has a variety of activities, most notably, Spring Break.  Many people avoid this time due to the influx of college students.
Winter is cooler and the least crowded.  Enjoy the serenity of the season and be sure to pack a hooded jacket for those blustery days. Senior “snowbirds” especially enjoy discounted reservations and restaurant specials.  Many book reservations for several months and take in all the area has to offer, especially E-biking their way around town!
Where do you want to be, what’s your ideal location?
Your budget for your vacation or getaway may dictate your options for accommodations. Do you want to be steps to the beach, waking up to the sound of waves?  Or  spend less money by being further away?  Do you want a place with a pool? What about a  condo overseeing the gulf or the bay, a house that sleeps 4 to 50, or a cottage for a small family? There are so many choices.
Local owners are the best resource for both pricing and finding a place that may offer beach gear, beach towels, grills and so many more amenities, such as you will find at Blue Angel Beach House or Cozy Cottage in beautiful Fort Morgan.  Our Lagoon Getaway on the Lagoon in Gulf Shores is literally minutes from every thing the city has to offer. Take time to evaluate places to find the spot that is best for you!

What are my transportation options?

Most people drive to Gulf Shores because there is much to do and experience.  If you fly, a rental car is suggested since this area is about 60 minutes away from the nearest major airport, which is Pensacola International Airport in Pensacola.  Planning a night out on the town? No problem, local taxis can get you safely to and from your favorite nightlife picks!
