Gulf Shores has a variety of iconic and Southern favorites. Here are three picks to consider:
The Original Oyster House – one of the most well-known and oldest in the Gulf Shores area that covers an array of seafood and standard fare. They are known for many things, including Fried Crab Claws, an Alabama original. The lively atmosphere, local shops and friendly staff make this restaurant one of our favorites. It’s very easy to get to on Gulf Shores Parkway!
Moe’s Original BBQ- located at 25603 Perdido Beach Boulevard, is hailed by many as the real deal! Moe’s will satisfy your hankering for Southern favorites such as smoked pork and chicken sandwiches, as well at mouthwatering BBQ ribs. Don’t leave without dessert, banana pudding, peach cobbler and blueberry crumble. Take out available too which is rare for this area!
GT’s on the Bay- is a win for a great family dining experience, whether you want inside or outside dining. There's a playground, fish tank, gluten free menu, and you can even dock your boat!! Food has very good reviews, ranging from seafood to standard American favorites with an excellent children’s menu. Look them up for live music nights and Happy Hour specials. Located on the bay, on 26189 Canal Road in Orange Beach.
Final Tips for Gulf Shores Dining:
- Going to dinner early or later will help avoid the crowds. In peak season, your wait may be as long as two hours.
- Order extra!! Enjoy lunch or dinner the next day with no hassles!
- Research – take the disappointment out of a dinner by checking reviews, menus and pricing. Get the most out of your experience and investment!!
- First night hack: Get pizza to go (yes, there is budget friendly Dominos!). OR Sarah’s Homemade to Go located at the beginning of Fort Morgan Road, open Monday to Saturday, 10am to 6pm. Take the stress out of your first night by sitting back and relaxing instead of eating at crowded restaurants or doing your own cooking. You are on VACATION!!
